From Meteohub

You can download all the software components needed to build a Meteohub system from the download section of this web site. There is no offline distribution of Meteohub, you have to download the components (firmware and/or application).

As the firmware and operating system is a GPL product (SlugOS or Debian) you can use it free of charge as long as you do comply to GPL rules. Details about Meteohub and Open Source obligation can be found in the license section of this web site.

The Meteohub application is not published under GPL. smartbedded UG (haftungsbeschränkt) allows you to make use of the Meteohub application free of charge until a given evaluation period ends. Unlicensed copies of Meteohub are limited to have uploads to weather networks only every 6 hours, cannot store more than one graph, don't allow to store more than 3 months of weather data and will stop operation about 4 months after install or when evaluation period limit of actual version has passed. Actual evaluation period ends at 31.07.2012.

If you would like to use Meteohub beyond that date, you have to purchase a license from smartbedded UG (haftungsbeschränkt). The license gives you the right to use Meteohub and future updates on one piece of hardware. If you want to equip multiple systems with Meteohub, you need multiple licenses. Please contact smartbedded UG (haftungsbeschränkt) for details about multiple licenses.

Meteohub license comes in three types.

1. Standard license costs 59 Euro. This license type is applicable for standard hardware platforms listed below. Once license is used for activation of your hardware, activation can be migrated to new hardware of same standard category by this link. To do that, system ID and activation code of current system is needed.
   • NSLU2
   • SheevaPlug, DreamPlug
   • ALIX, eboxes, Fit-PC Slim
   • VMware, generic X86 installations
2. iConnect license costs 99 Euro. This license type is exclusively for Iomega iConnect systems. As development effort to get control of this type of hardware was very high, it costs more than standard license for established hardware.
3. Upgrade license costs 40 Euro. If you have a standard Meteohub system activated and want to switch to an iConnect, you can do that by purchasing this license. You have to specify MAC (on NSLU2) or System ID (all other systems) of the Meteohub to be upgraded when purchasing an upgrade license.

All payment is done by PayPal, with the button given at the bottom of this page. Money conversion is done by PayPal, and you can even do the transfer without having a PayPal account by referencing your credit card or bank account in PayPal's non registered mode.

When the payment has been received a license key will be sent via e-mail. The email will also include instructions which tell you how to generate a system specific activation code from that. An activated Meteohub system is working without a time limit.
